Ok but how do I know if a legacy cdkey is linked in a game? I didn't buy the cdkey in GFW Marketplace, I've bought in ebay if I really remember it, so I took the game with a friend and I activated it with my key when I played first time. And if you try to use it again on another Steam account (like the GFWL system allowed to do it) it will simply tell you that the key is already used. If they allow to use GFWL keys on Steam, they will tie you key to your account as usual when you enter it. I mean they should have a database with all the keys, even if they are legacy ones. Yeah, but the rules of GFWL doesn't apply here. So I don't see how Steam could work with a legacy key, knowing it's a 'Universal Key' and not a key for a specific game. Dark Souls and SSF4 are SSA titled (Server-side activation), it's like Steam, this binds the product key permanently to your M$ Account, have no activation limits and each game owns an excluvise key that only works in that game. Originally posted by LordziTz:Those are two different situations, RE5 is a legacy title, it's a simple product check key, it doesn't attach the key to your profile and works to activate all legacy titles with a limit of 20-40 activations.
